Runners racing with focus on feet
Killington Parks and Recreation and Killington Elementary school are joining forces to host a "Finding Our Strides" Community 5K Run or Walk! This event serves as the culmination of the Finding Our Strides youth program, dedicated to promoting wellness, fitness, and camaraderie among participants in grades 3-6.

The Finding Our Strides Community 5K Run or Walk is not just about breaking a sweat; it's about coming together to make a positive impact. This year, all proceeds from the event will benefit Killington Elementary School physical education classes, specifically raising funds to bring Wunderle’s Big Top Adventures residency to KES physical education classes.

Participants can expect a fun-filled morning featuring:
Scenic Course: Enjoy a picturesque out and back route that begins at the Johnson Recreation Center; Travel down River Road past scenic wetlands and Thundering Brook Falls before turning around at Wolf Hill Road to return to the Rec Center.

Family-Friendly Atmosphere: Bring the whole family along for this inclusive event! Whether you're running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Participants are welcome to bring strollers to the event; however, please note that the route includes a dirt road.

Community Support: By participating in the Finding Our Strides 5K, you're not just investing in your own well-being; you're also giving back to the community and supporting the educational enrichment of local students.

Post-Race Celebration: After crossing the finish line, stick around for a post-race celebration featuring light refreshments and the opportunity to connect with fellow participants and supporters.

Registration for the Finding Our Strides Community 5K Run/Walk is open to individuals all ages and fitness levels. Whether you're a seasoned athlete, a weekend warrior, or simply looking for a fun way to support a worthy cause, we invite you to lace up your sneakers and join us for an unforgettable event!

Event Cleanup

Additionally, we are actively seeking an event sponsor to help cover the expenses associated with hosting the event. By securing an event sponsor, we aim to maximize the proceeds directed towards benefiting the students of Killington Elementary School.
